The Challenge 

With the Covid-19 pandemic, employers around the world are facing challenges to create and guarantee safe working conditions at workplaces where employees can work without the fear of Covid-19. The key requirements to guarantee a safe working condition is to ensure social distancing is always followed and immediate tracing is done in case of any infections. The former is challenging owing to lack of a continuous monitoring mechanism and the later due to lack of adequate data.

The Solution

The Internet of Things (IoT) technology can be used to overcome key challenges in facilitating social distancing and immediate tracing of Covid-19 cases. With IoT, a continuous remote monitoring and alert system can be developed that would guarantee social distancing always. IoT along with Cloud computing can also be used to make adequate data available and there by facilitate rapid tracing. These two solutions together would guarantee a safe working conditions for employees.
